A club for all

Belconnen Ramblers has been established as a foundation club within the ACT Basketball Association since the early 1970’s. We have over 350 players across Under 10’s to Under 19’s, Senior Premier League and Social leagues for those aged 18 to 80. We find that many of our families are lifelong members, and we’re even starting to see third generation players coming through. i.e. grandparents, parents and children having all played for our club as some point. We have a great family culture and are focused more on playing for the love of the sport, than winning championships. We still do well at winning our fair share of championships, but we know in winning, that every one of our players has had an equal opportunity to contribute.

Juniors

Ramblers runs a comprehensive junior program designed to support players at all stages of their basketball journey. This includes participation in the Junior Premier League (JPL) for elite athletes, as well as Junior Competitions across Divisions 1 to 6. We field boys’ and girls’ teams from Under 10s through to Under 19s, ensuring opportunities for players of all abilities. To place players in the most suitable teams, Ramblers holds open trials at the start of each year for all age groups and genders. These sessions are obligation free and allow players to be grouped by similar skill levels before teams are nominated into appropriate divisions. Our focus is on development, teamwork, and enjoyment, with quality coaching supporting both competitive growth and long term participation.

Seniors

Ramblers provides senior basketball opportunities for players with a wide range of experience and goals. We compete in the Senior Premier League (SPL), Basketball ACT’s premier competition and a recognised pathway toward higher level play, where Ramblers has consistently remained competitive. Alongside this, we offer a strong Senior Social program that prioritises enjoyment, fitness, and connection.

Senior teams cater for players aged 18 to 80, with men’s, women’s, and mixed teams available. Player placement is guided through preseason trials and assessments, ensuring teams are formed at appropriate levels for competitive or social play. Whether you are pursuing high performance basketball or simply looking to stay active in a supportive club environment, Ramblers offers a place to belong.

Local Tournaments

In addition to regular season competitions, Ramblers regularly enters teams into local tournaments throughout the year. These may be organised by Basketball ACT or by other clubs and associations, and provide valuable opportunities for additional game experience beyond weekly fixtures. Tournaments offer players the chance to compete in new environments, strengthen team connections, and apply their skills in a different competitive setting. Participation varies by team and season, with opportunities communicated directly to players and families as they arise.
